Adhitama steel provide high tensile carbon steel plate according to ASTM A516 Grade 70 and ASME SA516 Grade 70 for boiler and pressure vessel fabrication of the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
ASTM A-516 standard is primarily used in welded pressure vessels where improved notch toughness is required. The steel plates allow four different strength levels 55, 60, 65 & 70 and the most common is grade 70. This grade is made to a fine grain particle size to meet the requirement of varied industry applications. ASTM A-516 Gr.70 steel plates are HIC tested.

For plates < 40mm (thinner), normally supply as rolled. Plates supplied > 40mm (above) thick are normalised.

ASTM A-516/SA516 normalized products can be welded using a low-hydrogen electrode and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes. It is recommended that welding be conducted in accordance with the aplicable ASME/AWS codes.
Because the normalizing process results in a homogenous, fine-grained ferritic microstructure, plates produced by this process exhibit excellent formability.
